Wunmi won for her role in ‘Damilola, Our Loved Boy’, a true story based on the murder of Damilola Taylor, a ten-year-old Nigerian boy living in Peckham, London and the subsequent trial. Born in Lagos, Damilola travelled to the United Kingdom in August 2000 with his family to allow his sister, Gbemi to seek treatment for epilepsy before his death in November 2000.
