The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will appeal last week’s verdict of an Abuja Federal High Court that governorship elections will not hold in five states in April.
The states are Bayelsa, Cross River, Kogi, Sokoto and Adamawa, where the incumbent governors had earlier won rerun elections.
This was disclosed to reporters yesterday in Calabarm Cross River State, by the chairman of the commission, Professor Attahiru Jega after a meeting with chairmen of political parties.
