It was precisely on Friday, February 17, 2012 at the same venue where, historically speaking, at exactly 12.00am on June 1, 1969, the then Biafran leader, General Emeka Ojukwu made the popular Ahiara declaration that lasted till 4.00am the following morning, June 2, 1969. Ironically, some scholars have argued that the same Ahiara declaration brought a sudden negative turning-point to the Biafran struggle for self-determination, forcing the then young republic to nose-dive psychologically.
