Royal Dutch Shell says attacks, vandalism led to 14,000 tons of oil spilling in Nigeria in '09

LAGOS, Nigeria - Royal Dutch Shell PLC says it spilled nearly 14,000 tons of crude oil into the creeks of the Niger Delta last year. The company says attacks and vandalism at its pipelines caused what was a significant increase in the amount of spilled oil in the delta compared with in 2008.
