A CONFRONTATION between policemen and some villagers in Dambatta, a community in Kano State, yesterday claimed three lives.
But the Police Commissioner, Alhaji Tambari Yabo Mohammed, said only two villagers died.
There were conflicting reports on what actually triggered the crisis.
While the Commissioner of Police said the charred remains of a suspected thief sparked off the confrontation, some of the villagers alleged that the police killed the suspected thief in Dambatta.
